The UK airline is introducing free high-speed onboard internet through space-based agreement

Flyers on the airline will soon enjoy high-speed internet during flights without charge after a new partnership with the billionaire's communications provider.

British Airways stated that the complimentary, “fast and dependable” connectivity service through the satellite provider will be available for travelers flying coach, business, or first class starting next month.

Broad Implementation Throughout Various Carriers

The holding company of British Airways, International Airlines Group, confirmed it had secured an partnership with the satellite firm to provide connectivity coverage across over 500 aircraft across its carriers, including Aer Lingus, Iberia, and Vueling.

Seamless Wifi from Boarding to Arrival

British Airways noted that the introduction of this service formed part of a seven billion pound “modernization” program that will provide smooth internet access for passengers starting at boarding through arrival, also when in flight above oceans and far-off locations.

Customers can hook up multiple devices and do not require a unique login.

Current Connectivity Services

Restricted connectivity service remains offered to BA passengers on most of its jets via the .air platform.

Enrollees in BA’s frequent flyer program are able to dispatch messages plus text-based messages during flights free of charge, whereas travelers looking to watch music, movies, and content on the journey and are not travelling in premium cabins may pay from four pounds ninety-nine to twenty-one pounds ninety-nine for one wifi plan.
