The New England Patriots equaled their longest winning run from the Brady era as they defeated division opponents the New York Jets by 13 points in the NFL

Rookie TreVeyon Henderson was the standout with three touchdowns as the Patriots claimed an eight-game winning streak for the first time since legendary quarterback Brady's last year with the team in 2019

Signal-caller Maye passed for 281 yards and a TD, completing 25 out of 34 attempts

Victory extends the New England's advantage at the summit of the division as they improved to nine victories against two losses, with the New York bottom after slipping to two victories and eight defeats

The visitors had taken the lead at their home field with quarterback Justin Fields rushing for a short rushing score to finish the Jets' initial series

But the New England answered in the second period as Henderson rushed for two seven-yard touchdowns before the ball carrier caught a pass from Drake Maye at the back of the end zone halfway into the third period to make it 21 to 7

"That was a crucial moment for him rising to the challenge, and it's been fantastic for him to keep gaining experience," Maye said of the rookie. "He desires to be excellent."

Fields found John Metchie in the latter part of the third quarter to narrow the deficit for the Jets but Andy Borregales kicked a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter as the home side closed out the victory
